zwischenleere is a photobook and web project, created as my bachelor project, that makes visible the emotional and physical phases of miscarriage — before, during, and after the loss.

It responds to the fact that, despite their frequency, miscarriages are often socially silenced, which can leave those affected feeling isolated. Through repetition, contrast, emptiness, and the gradual reduction of formally similar motifs, the project translates the processual nature of grief into a visual language. The small, handheld format of the photobook creates a quiet, protected space for those affected. A complementary website transfers the reduced design into the digital realm and additionally offers space for interviews, personal testimonies, and further information.

A photo book about connecting with one’s own body through movement and rhythm.
No matter how different the styles of Modern Dance, Hip-Hop, and Ballet may seem at first glance, the connection to oneself and within the dance community can be found in every form of expression, and this book captures it photographically.
